Things To Consider

1. The opening verses point to the faithfulness of God.
2. God never forgets us.
3. God moved in the heart of this king and directed history.
4. God also had to stir the hearts of his people and not everyone returned.
5. God is the eternal initiator.
6. God also makes provision for the return.
7. The list of names can be intimidating.
8. The names show us that relatively few returned but they were acting in faith.
9. The first thing they did upon their return was to worship and offer sacrifice, starting with the heads of families.
