In the Hebrew Bible, Ezra and Nehemiah are combined.
There are 12 prayers in the book of Nehemiah.
Nehemiah laments while recognizing that disobedience that landed them in their circumstances.
Nehemiah prays God's own words to him – a good practice...
Nehemiah's mourning, fasting and praying have taken a physical toll and the king observes the suffering.
Nehemiah was in danger because of his disposition.
The king agrees to send Nehemiah to fortify a city for a people that have been an enemy for generations.
Nehemiah encouraged his brothers and spoke of the favor God had given him.
Opposition is always around the corner.
Good advice for difficult times – remember the Lord.
